The controller of the personal data processed under these rules shall be the University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

3. Personal data processor

For the purposes of operating its website, the University of Ljubljana collaborates with two personal data processors, with whom it has defined and agreed on mutual relations and obligations, including those related to personal data protection, in a written contract.

The contracting processor of the personal data collected while using the website is Innovatif d.o.o., Poljanski nasip 6, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The contracting processor of the personal data collected for the purposes of sending the e‑newsletter is Squalomail d.o.o., Gabrije 33, 6250 Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia. 

4. Purposes of processing personal data based on the consent given

Based on the consent given by an individual when visiting its website and entering their email, the University of Ljubljana shall process the following personal data:

  • For the purposes of sending general e-news on current developments at the University of Ljubljana: full name and email (the data are collected in an external SqualoMail app);
  • For the purposes of sending Career Centres' e-news to employers: full name, email, name of company or organisation, position at the company or organisation, telephone number (the data are collected in external SqualoMail app);
  • For the purposes of signing up for events: full name and email;
  • For the purposes of entering messages in a condolence book: full name and email.

5. Personal data storage period

An individual's personal data acquired based on their consent and for the purposes listed above shall be processed and stored until the consent is revoked, except when personal data are processed for the purpose of signing up for events. In this case, personal data are stored for one month after the event. 

6. Rights of the individual

Based on a consent given for the purposes listed above, you can exercise the following rights at any time:

  • The right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data;
  • The right to rectify or complete your personal data;
  • The right to have your personal data erased;
  • The right to restrict the processing of your personal data (in certain cases);
  • The right to data portability – in the event of a contract or personal consent and when data processing is automated.

You can send a written request to exercise a specific right by post to University of Ljubljana, Kongresni trg 12, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, or email it to dpo@uni-lj.si.

Complaints: if you think you have not been able to exercise your rights in an appropriate manner, please contact us before taking any further action. If the issue is still not resolved, you can file a complaint or report with the Slovenian Information Commissioner.
