We take great pride in the University’s successes, so every year during the week when we celebrate a birthday, we pay respect to its best research achievements, presenting honorary titles, plaques, awards, and recognitions to those who contribute to make the University of Ljubljana even better

On 3 December 1919, the first lecture in Slovene was given at the University of Ljubljana. We celebrate this day as the birthday of the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia, which today enjoys an international reputation.
