EUTOPIA Multilingualism & Diversity Student Conference
Event date:
Event location: MS Teams
As members of the EUTOPIA Connected Learning Community ‘Multilingualism and Diversity’, we invite students from all levels to share their research on multilingualism and diversity at an online multilingual conference. Topic of this year's conference is The Future of Multilingualism in a Global World. The conference will be held virtually.
The global order is rapidly changing: we are seeing increased global connectedness, through migration, trade and cultural interactions, and, at the same time the rise of nationalism and a backlash against diversity. Equally, the impact of technology on our
multicultural society put us at a crossroads. How can we build a genuinely inclusive world that delivers sustainable and equitable outcomes for all? What does it mean to be multilingual in an increasingly tech-dependent society? It is now more imperative than ever that researchers urgently respond to these challenges.
We invite submissions on topics related, but not limited to:
- Language, Science & Technology
- Multilingualism & psychology,
- Impact of AI-based language tools,
- Future of language learning and translation.
- Language & Politics
- Language, imperialism and decolonization,
- Language, nationhood and diplomacy,
- Multilingualism and human rights.
- Language, Identity & Culture
- Language variations and non-standard forms,
- Endangered languages and language conservation,
- Language, migration and exile.
To submit your proposal, please send a 250-word abstract in English (including 3-5 keywords) and a separate short bio to eutopia.multilingualismconference@mail.com by 30 April 2025.

As this is a multilingual conference, you will be free to use your preferred language for your presentation but at least one component (oral presentation or slides) should be in English (e.g. you can present in Spanish with slides in English or vice-versa).
