The EUTOPIA graduate conference explores the intersection of contemporary social sciences and classical philosophical inquiry, focusing on the construction and contestation of truth within the political sphere. The event is organized University of Ljubljana, the host, in collaboration with Babeş-Bolyai University, and Pompeu Fabra University, and fosters high-level academic dialogue. Participants will employ a comparative lens to examine the complexities of power, ideology, and democratic legitimacy, bringing together Hegelian dialectics, French Theory, and the psychoanalytical insights of the Ljubljana School.
The conference program gathers international graduate students and senior scholars to develop new theoretical frameworks for decoding contemporary political reality. Over four days of intensive presentations, discussions, and guest lectures, participants will analyze the shift from traditional metaphysical certainty toward a fragmented understanding of political truth in the 21st century. In addition to theoretical sessions, the event features career-oriented working dinners focused on academic publishing and navigating the job market, ensuring lasting pedagogical and research contributions within the EUTOPIA network.
