The Barcelona International Summer School (BISS) provides advanced training by leveraging the academic expertise of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), where renowned faculty members share cutting-edge research. The full course catalog reflects a commitment to academic excellence and cross-disciplinary exploration. A diverse selection of credit-bearing courses is available in English or Spanish. Modules vary in duration and intensity, facilitating flexible combinations spanning one to four weeks. Deadline for application is April 7, 2026.
The courses are divided into thematic areas: artificial intelligence and data science, business and economics, media and culture, global politics, health and well-being, and language skills. In addition, a variety of social activities are organized to help participants get to know Barcelona and Spanish culture, as well as the other summer school participants.
Admission and application
Each course in the curriculum is assigned credit points. Students from partner universities of the EUTOPIA Alliance receive a significant reduction in the registration fee when enrolling in the international summer school: the fee is set at 17.69 euros per credit point for all courses. They do not pay a registration fee upon enrollment.
The Barcelona International Summer School fees include the following:
- Tuition and examination charges,
- Access to UPF student card, IT Services, Wi-Fi, library and study spaces,
- Social programme activities,
- Official academic transcript on completion of programme.
The programme fee does not include the following:
- Accommodation,
- Transport,
- Medical or travel insurance,
- Meals.
