Inclusive Longevity Society: Dignity in Ageing
Event date: to
Event location: UL Rectorate, Assembly Hall Kongresni trg 12, Ljubljana
The University of Ljubljana Competence Center for Social Innovation for Active and Healthy Ageing, in cooperation with partners of the European University Alliance EUTOPIA, is organising the international scientific conference Inclusive Longevity Society: Dignity in Ageing, which will be held on 16 and 17 September 2026 in the Chamber Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Ljubljana. The honorary patron and speaker at the conference is the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Nataša Pirc Musar.
The conference will address one of the key issues of modern society – how to ensure dignified ageing in an era of increasing life expectancy and how to create conditions for an inclusive longevity society. The discussions will connect social science, humanities, health, economic and technological aspects of ageing and stimulate reflection on the role of the individual, community and institutions in creating a society that respects the dignity of all generations.
The conference will bring together domestic and foreign researchers and experts from various fields, who will present the latest findings on active ageing, intergenerational cooperation, the health and well-being of older people, the use of new technologies in care, and other challenges and opportunities in a long-lived society.
The first day of the conference will be dedicated to international speakers and a panel discussion on dignity in ageing, while the second day will focus on presentations of research and examples of good practice by researchers from the University of Ljubljana and partner institutions.
