Moodle ULTRA Marathon for Educators 2026

We will devote the introductory session to the new features in Moodle 5.2 and an orientation to the online learning environment, after which we will discuss collaborative work, communication, assessment, interactive resources, grading and other features that Moodle offers to support teaching and learning.

This year’s Moodle ULTRA marathon comprises 16 one-hour online workshops, which will take place via Zoom between September 21. and October 2. 2026.

Whether you’re just setting up your first online classroom or looking to upgrade an existing one, you can choose the sessions that best suit your needs.

Moodle 5.2: an overview of new features

Brief description: At this introductory session, we will review the key new features and changes in Moodle 5.2, as well as the opportunities this update brings for lecturers and students working in online classrooms.

Navigating the online classroom, viewing users and adding basic materials

Brief description: During this session, we will learn how to organise content effectively, monitor users, use reports and organise the classroom in a way that makes it easy for you and your students to find your way around.

Brief description: During the session, we will explore the possibilities for using forums and chat, the different types of forums, and the key settings for organising discussions, posting contributions and monitoring student activity.
