Two students from the University of Ljubljana (1st or 2nd level) will have the opportunity to participate in the 1st EUTOPIA Ideas Club. This is an international student club that aims to raise awareness of European values. The first meeting will focus on the theme of inclusion and cultural diversity. The aim is to give students a voice in shaping and developing a European identity and inclusive citizenship.

The event will be attended by students from all EUTOPIA partner universities; Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain), Universitatea Babes-Bolyai ( Cluj-Napoca, Romania), Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Brussels, Belgium), CY Cergy Université Paris (Paris, France), Technische Universitãt Dresden (Dresden, Germany), Gõteborgs Universitet (Gothenburg, Sweden), University of Ljubljana ( Ljubljana, Slovenia), The University of Warwick (Coventry, UK), Università Ca' Foscari Venezia (Venice, Italy). The EUTOPIA Ideas Club will meet live for the first time on 12 October 2023 in Paris, France at Cergy Paris Université. The event is co-organised by the EUTOPIA Student Think Tank (EUSTT).

Registration

To apply, you must be an undergraduate or Master student at one of the 10 EUTOPIA Universities. No prior knowledge or experience in a specific field is required. If his/her status changes during the selection or the event, he/she must inform the organisers. If at any stage of the application process it is found that incorrect information has been provided, the candidate will be disqualified. Applications are invited at eutopia.student@uni-lj.si with the subject line "Call for EUTOPIA Ideas Club", together with a motivation letter in English (up to 1,500 words), in which the candidate describes his/her motivation to participate in the event, the contribution to the event and the results that can be expected from his/her participation. Applications will be accepted until 15 September 2023. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. The Selection Committee will assess motivation and English language skills. An online interview may be organised as part of the selection process. The final ranking will be published on the website. Selected students will receive an email to confirm their participation.

Selection criteria

Candidates will be selected on the basis of the following criteria (from 0 to 100 points):

The quality of the motivation letter, which must include: a presentation and critical perspective on facing social and contemporary challenges (20 points); the relevance of the chosen EUTOPIA Ideas Club theme for the candidate and his/her personal development (20 points); knowledge of EUTOPIA and its role for a better Europe (20 points); an active knowledge of English (20 points) the candidate's CV, including activities related to social activism, citizenship and volunteering (20 points).

After selection

More information on what is expected of selected students. Selected students will be covered for transport and accommodation costs to attend the event.
