Candidates for the rector elections 2025–2029 are announced

In accordance with the decision on initiating the election process for the Rector of the UL for the 2025–2029 term, the senates of the University’s member faculties had until 12 noon on Thursday, 20 February 2025, to submit their reasoned proposals for Rector candidates to the University of Ljubljana’s Electoral Commission.
The Electoral Commission received three timely nominations, listed below in alphabetical order by surname:
- Prof. Dr Gregor Majdič (nominated by the UL VF);
- Prof. Dr Irena Mlinarič Raščan (nominated by the UL FFA);
- Prof. Dr Metka Tekavčič (nominated by the UL EF).
All candidates meet the formal requirements for candidature and have agreed to be considered.
The order of candidates on the ballot paper will be determined by lot.
The dates of the public hearings will be announced at a later stage.
