Czech Language and Literature

The Master’s degree programme in Czech Language and Literature provides the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge, skills or competences corresponding to the general or subject-specific competences of Master’s graduates in Czech Language and Literature.

Master students acquire a broad and fundamental humanistic education at both the theoretical and applied levels, in-depth knowledge of Czech history, literature and culture, and specific philological knowledge in the field of language. The programme prepares students for demanding creative tasks and needs, and above all for independent work in the fields of research, translation, literary and scientific criticism, and interdisciplinary connections in the broader intercultural field. The programme successfully integrates with other fields of study both within the Department of Slavonic Studies and more broadly.
