About the programme

Graduates of the single-subject courses of the second-level Master's degree programme in Geography acquire in-depth and specific knowledge and skills in applied geography. Due to the great heterogeneity of applied geography and the integration of geography with other related spatial sciences, the program enables a wide range of choices with specializations in the following areas: environmental protection; applied physical geography; regional and spatial planning; rural studies; urban studies; political geography; geography of tourism; and applied geoinformatics.
The aim of the program is to train students for independent research work, for participation in research projects and participation in interdisciplinary research groups. Upon completion of the programme, the student will be qualified to work in environmental protection, regional and spatial planning, tourism, international relations and integration, and applied geoinformatics.
Graduates of the Combined Teacher Education Course of the Second-level Master's degree programme in Geography are qualified to transfer the acquired geographical knowledge to various types and forms of education at all school levels, and can also plan and implement the most complex work in various school and extracurricular activities.
