About the programme

The graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme in Hispanic Studies acquire all the linguistic expertise and intercultural competence recognised by international standards as fundamental in the field of Hispanic studies. The students gain extensive knowledge of the Spanish linguistic system and are able to describe it exhaustively and use it appropriately in a wide variety of circumstances. They study the fundamental periods and works of Spanish and Hispanic American literatures and get familiarised with cultural, historical and social traits of the Spanish speaking world.

The acquired knowledge enables the graduates to continue their studies and further improve their competence or successfully integrate into professional life. The graduates are qualified to work in many different areas which require a good knowledge of Spanish and a deep understanding of the particularities of Spanish and Hispanic American cultures, as well as a broader ability to critically and flexibly apply their acquired competence.
