About the programme

The professional bachelor study programme Midwifery aims to qualify specialists in the field of reproductive health, health promotion, family planning counselling and health education.

The students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for quality performance of midwifery care, enabling them to work as autonomous and responsible professionals. The programme is comprised of lectures, seminars, and seminar, laboratory and clinical practice and training.

Students acquire knowledge from the field of general medicine with special emphasis on anatomy, physiology, pathology, and language and IT literacy. The programme includes modules focusing on midwifery and gynaecological care, the care of infants and their families.

Along with theoretical instruction, the programme requires intensive practical training which takes place in differentparts of Slovenia and abroad within the student exchange programmes. The programme comprises 50% of theoretical instruction and 50% of practical training.

The candidates have to provide evidence of Slovenian language skills proficiency at level B2 of Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR).
