About the programme

The general goal of the study programme Nursing is to meet the needs for highly qualified nurses and other health professionals who will be competent to perform the most demanding tasks in the field of nursing, to lead the nursing teams, to participate in the healthcare and interdisciplinary teams, to work as health education/promotion specialists, and to be actively involved in education and research within the relevant field.

The programme includes the knowledge from nursing theories, information technology, didactics, research methodology, social sciences, ethics, law, systems management, quality in health care, interprofessional cooperation and some other discipline-specific fields (district nursing, gerontological nursing, prehospital emergency care, mental health, intensive care in paediatrics and neonatology).

The study comprises lectures, seminars, seminar and clinical practice. A three week practical training takes place in the third semester within the scope of elected modules. It is performed in a variety of health and social institutions depending on the modules chosen.

The candidates have to provide evidence of Slovenian language skills proficiency at level B2 of Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR).
