About the programme

Graduates acquire wide and thorough basic knowledge of philosophical problems and various theoretical and methodological approaches in philosophy.
By analysing in detail chosen philosophical problems and identifying solutions, by reading, analysing and interpreting original philosophical texts, by carefully deliberating their complex arguments and by critically perusing specialised literature students enhance the skills needed for independent scientific or expert work.
The goal of the study programme is to enable graduates to work (1) as scientists or experts in research and educational institutions, (2) as journalists and translators in the fields of philosophy, humanities and social sciences, (3) as library staff (although not as a librarian), (4) as members of editorial boards at publishing and media houses and (5) as employees of cultural institutions that monitor, research and preserve the world and the Slovenian philosophical and humanistic heritage.
