About the programme

The primary goal of the academic bachelor study programme Sanitary engineering is to provide students with knowledge and a broad range of enabling skills in the field of hygiene, epidemiology and health ecology.

Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are empowered to control hygienic processes in the working and living environment, protect people from environmental risk factors and protect the environment against harmful human interference.

The programme provides the students with advanced knowledge of theoretical bases which they apply into practice. Within the scope of medical subjects, they learn about the structure and function of the human organism, the management of biological, chemical and physical agents, as well as communal hygiene, hygiene of establishments and processes.

An important part of the programme is the technical body of knowledge which enables a sanitary engineer in the preparation and management of technical and technological solutions of environmental and health problems. The programme is composed of lectures, seminars and practical training, i.e. laboratory, field and professional practice.

The candidates have to provide evidence of Slovenian language skills proficiency at level B2 of Common European Framework of References for Languages (CEFR).
