Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, affect millions of Europeans. Physical exercise, such as table tennis, can reduce NDD risk and slow progression. This SWAN project aims to develop and evaluate a structured table tennis intervention for individuals with NDDs, promoting social inclusion, equal access to sports, and health-enhancing physical activity. It also seeks to educate stakeholders and create guidelines for integrating table tennis programs in various settings. The ultimate goal is to create an ecosystem to improve the well-being of individuals with NDDs across Europe, through physical activity in general and table tennis in particular.
