Ana Pleško

The co-founder of the social enterprise Simbioza Genesis, which aims to provide intergenerational connection and the spread of computer literacy.
She graduated from the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana, in the course Social Work with Young People. In addition to her studies at the Faculty of Social Work, she pursued and completed parallel studies at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science.
As a student she gained numerous experiences in the areas of management and organisation. She was the president of the biggest student organisation in Slovenia, ŠOU in Ljubljana, and she was employed at the Moste-Polje Association of Friends of Youth and served as a coach for the Youth Orchestra of the Central European Initiative.
She has nine years of experience working in the field of youth, and has also worked intensively for the last four years with old people. In 2014 she co-founded the company Simbioza Genesis, which aims to include old people in the digital society and to promote intergenerational links. It all started with the successful nationwide project Symbiosis e-Literate Slovenia, in which they offered computer and internet literacy for the older generation. The project was successful and grew into a social enterprise. Today this enterprise is known for its numerous actions and sustainable projects, such as Symbiosis of Movement, Smart with Smart, e-Symbiosis, Intergenerational Centre in Ljubljana and others. It has received numerous awards, both Slovenian and European, for its efforts.
Owing to her successful work, Ana Pleško was recognised and selected in 2012 and 2013 as one of the 50 most successful Slovenian women. She also participates as a mentor in the nationwide action ‘Slovenia – mentor country’, in which she transfers her knowledge and experience to students keen to learn.
