Anže Perne studied at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana and graduated as an English teacher. He was very active as a student, working as student representative on the University of Ljubljana Habilitation Committee, president of the student council and student vice-dean at the Faculty of Arts, where he introduced the tutoring system.

He has been employed as an English teacher since 2009, first at Davorin Jenko primary school in Cerklje na Gorenjskem and, since 2011, at Gimnazija Vič grammar school. Here he was secretary of the school examination committee for three years and was in charge of five European projects. In the last few years he has worked with the National Examinations Centre as an external assessor for the general matura school-leaving examination in English. In 2018 and 2019, he was an assistant to the chief assessor for the general matura in English.
