Žan Žveplan is an alumnus of the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, screenwriter and producer.

He initially enrolled at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana because he always wanted to become a lawyer. At school he was an excellent debater and at the age of 17 he won first prize for a debate in the European Parliament in Belgium. After his first year at law school, he realised that studying law was not for him. He became interested in writing, which he also did in his spare time. Even in primary school, he wrote a blog with stories in English, took part in short story competitions and decided to enrol at the AGRFT to study dramaturgy. In 2015, he received the Academy's Prešeren Prize for his graduation thesis. After graduating in dramaturgy, he completed his master's degree in film production in 2017.

After completing his master's degree, he joined the advertising agency Pristop, where he is responsible for creative advertising concepts and texts for various brands. Together with his colleague Eva Tomazin, they founded the Veto Production Institute and he also runs an after-hours s.p. (Creative Producer, Žan Žveplan, s.p.).

Žan has been involved in several projects, he wrote the screenplay for a student project, the short fiction film Thoughts, as a dramaturge he worked on the projects Rescued, Escape, Untitled, Tricks, The Underground Lovers, Part 2, King Lear, as a producer on the projects The Visit, The Shot Down, Maruška and on the project Divided as a director, screenwriter and producer.Žan has also worked on the projects The Shot Down, The Untitled, Tricks, The Underground Lovers, Part 2, and King Lear as well as on the projects The Visit, The Shot Down, Maruška and on the project Divided as director, screenwriter and producer. One of his most successful projects is the youth LP series Lena, which he created together with his colleague Eva Tomazin.

Žan is co-founder and president of VLU - the association of versatile literary creators, which brings together all those interested in literary creation in all its forms and its practical application.
