Recognition of foreign higher education qualifications

The procedure for the recognition of foreign higher education qualifications for enrolment in the first year of postgraduate study programmes and the procedure for the validation of partially completed foreign higher education qualifications for enrolment in the higher years of the first-, second- and third-cycle study programmes begins with the candidate’s application to study in the Republic of Slovenia.

The following documents are required for the recognition of foreign qualifications for the purpose of continuing studies at a master’s or doctoral level at the University of Ljubljana:

1. Scan/photograph of the diploma (all pages of the document);
2. Scan/photograph of the diploma supplement, or other evidence of the content and duration of the studies and of the requirements fulfilled during the studies, as well as a translation into Slovene, if requested by the higher education institution (please check with the authorised persons or directly with the higher education institution to which you are submitting your application whether a translation of the documents is required);
3. Scan/photograph of a chronological record of the applicant’s education abroad, signed by the applicant.

The procedure will be conducted by an authorised person at the UL member where the applicant is applying to study.
