Summer school Lopar 2: Biodiversity Survey of Rab
The island of Rab is a geologically heterogeneous island with numerous habitats, many of which are already heavily degraded—partly due to tourism and partly due to inappropriate land use, such as uncontrolled and excessive free grazing of sheep. The program of the summer school includes systematic surveys of selected groups of organisms, which are presented in the subsequent sections of the document. The first four days are dedicated to fieldwork, species identification, and organizing the collected data into a database. In the afternoons, we will organize a macro-photography workshop. The final days of the summer school are devoted to data analysis. Participants will prepare group reports on their work.
