Asst. Dr Jure Mravlje

After successfully completing his doctorate in Biosciences, Assistant Dr Jure Mravlje joined the Chair of Botany and Plant Physiology in 2023, where he is actively involved in teaching and research. Since his student days, he has also been involved in various administrative bodies of the Faculty and the University, as well as in the promotion and popularisation of the biological sciences, which particularly reflects his dedication to his work.

Asst. Prof. Dr Riste Ichev

Assistant Professor Dr Riste Ichev has an outstanding research and teaching record in the field of money and finance. He is a dedicated, energetic, committed and popular lecturer. He publishes in reputable international scientific journals with a high impact factor. His articles are internationally high-profile and highly cited. He is a member of the Behavioural and Finance Lab at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, and is involved in several interdisciplinary and international scientific research projects. His research and teaching work is of outstanding importance for society.

Asst. Prof. Dr Damijan Knez

Proposed by: Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana

His bibliographic work includes 65 original scientific articles, four review articles, three granted international patents, a doctoral thesis co-supervision and 12 completed master’s thesis supervisions. He is one of the leading young experts in Slovenia in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry. In his teaching he impresses students with his energy, commitment and professional competence.

Asst. Prof. Dr Vesna Iršič

Assistant Professor Dr Vesna Iršič received a bronze medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad. She was a postdoctoral researcher at Simon Fraser University in Canada. Her research work is outstanding, with 24 articles published so far. She receives the best student evaluations for her teaching work. She is active in arranging many activities, including as a promoter and organiser of the Summer School Mathematics in Ljubljana 2023 and 2024 workshops.

Asst. Prof. Dr Alan Lukežič

Assistant Professor Dr Alan Lukežič is distinguished by his outstanding teaching and research achievements. His research work in the field of visual object tracking, one of the key problems in computer vision, has won numerous national and international awards, including the Best Paper Award at the prestigious British Machine Vision Conference (BMVC).

Asst. Prof. Dr Žan Lep

During his six-year research and teaching career in the field of social psychology, Assistant Prof. Dr Žan Lep has established himself in the Slovenian and international research arena, building on his scientific findings and applying them in practice. He has worked intensively with the media to communicate scientific findings to the general public in a socially responsible manner, and has proved to be an outstanding higher education teacher.
