Transport

Public bus transport

The cheapest way to get around Ljubljana is to take the city buses using the Urbana card. The single Urbana city card is a contactless smart card that allows fast and convenient cashless payment for rides on all LPP lines and free transfers within 90 minutes of the first validation, i.e. payment for the ride. It is also possible to use the Urbana app via smartphones. In addition to paying for bus transport, Urbana can be used to pay for the EURBAN on-call service, funicular rides and tickets for all events at Ljubljana Castle, parking fees in white zones and car parks managed by the Ljubljana Parking and Market Company, services provided by the Ljubljana City Library and the BicikeLJ service.

The Urbana Value Card

The Urbana Value Card is yellow, has no name and is transferable. It can be loaded with a balance of up to 50 euros.

Urbana name card or term card

The Urbana term card is green and replaces all types of monthly and value tickets. It is issued in name and is non-transferable.

Bicikelj

Cycling is also a very convenient way to get around Ljubljana. Ljubljana has a bike system called Bicikelj, which has a number of bikes and stops. You can choose between an annual (3 euros) or weekly (1 euro) subscription, the first 60 minutes are free. Once you are registered, you can use it without restrictions.
