Once you arrived to Slovenia, but prior to your employment, you need to bridge this gap in your insurance status:

  • If you are non EU citizen, you will need to prove your insurance status (normally by commercial insurance) during the time period when your VISA application is being processed. However, once you arrive in Slovenia, and before your employment, we recommend you to renew your commercial health insurance.
  • If you are an EU citizen, you may be able to use European Health Insurance Card.

Pre-employment medical examination

HR Office will guide you through a pre-employment medical examination for a job, that is a legal obligation in Slovenia, in line with Data Privacy Law.

An extended clinical examination will be done by an “occupational, traffic and sports medicine” medical doctor, who also examines all your medical documentation and the results of the examinations performed.

Results of the medical tests are confidential and will be given only to you. Medical test confirming that you are able to perform the work is a precondition for the employment. The Employer only gets a report statement that you either meet or not meet the required work conditions for the employment.
