University teacher  (M/F) – assistant professor in the field of Money and finance (1 position)

• Status: full-time (100 % employment) (40 h/week)
• Trial work:4 months
• Type of contract: permanent

CONDITIONS FOR THE POSITION:

• doctoral degree (Ph.D) in the fields of economics and finance
• valid habilitation title: Assistant professor for Money and finance
• rhetorical abilities, sense of innovation, ability to organize their own work or work of their colleagues;
• active knowledge of English and knowledge of the Slovenian language at B2 level according to the European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate fails to meet this condition at the time of the job placement, he/she must complete it within three years from the date of employment.

Functional knowledge and other requirements (professional exam, skills and language):

• rhetorical skills,
• innovation,
• sense of organizing one's own work and the work of colleagues

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• designing and updating curricula and adapting study programs to professional, pedagogical and legal requirements
• organizing or co-organizing all activities for the implementation of the course in accordance with the curriculum and professional findings, as well as coordinating the work and supervising the work of other course providers (assistants, technical and other collaborators)
• lecturing students, conducting seminars and other pedagogical activities in the subject
• administering, assessing and correcting exams and knowledge tests
• mentoring students in preparing assignments and other work
• participation in other activities related to pedagogical work in the field of expertise at and outside the university
• scientific research work, studying and developing concepts, theories and methods
• ensuring the safe and healthy work of the unit's workers and students, and ensuring that persons who come into contact with hazardous substances are adequately educated and informed about the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures
• performing other tasks that fall within the broader professional field of the job

We expect from candidates to have responsibility:

• for execution and co-execution of the course in accordance of the study program and other regulations;
• for the professional and timely execution of other works;
• for working assets;
• for the safe and healthy work of co-workers and students of the course;
• for the professional supervision of the work of assistants, technical and other employees involved in the execution of courses.

Priority will be given to candidates:

• With a knowledge of the Slovenian language.
• With research or teaching experience at internationally recognised institutions.
• With the teaching experience in the area of machine learning in finance and quantitative finance.
• With a high potential for future research in the field of Money and finance especially in the area of machine learning in finance and quantitative finance.

Job starting date: expected in 1.10.2026
