Position: University teacher at Department of Library and Information Science and Book Studies (M/F)
Status: full-time

Conditions for the position:
- required education/level and field: doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of Library Science or another relevant field (pre-Bologna study programmes) or doctoral degree (PhD) in Information science or another relevant field (Bologna study programmes);
- academic title of Professor (Assistant, Associate Professor, Full Professor) in the field of Information Science or another relevant field at University of Ljubljana or an academic title of another institution, under the condition that this title can be recognized in the process of recognizing at the University of Ljubljana; or the title of guest professor at the University of Ljubljana; or the fulfilment of the conditions for obtaining the ‘’habilitation’’ of University teacher (Assistant, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) in the field of Information Science or another relevant field. In this case, together with the application, it is necessary to submit proofs of compliance with the quantitative and qualitative criteria for the election to the academic title or for recognition of the title in accordance with the criteria. The candidate must also enclose a statement that he/she agrees that in the event of a positive decision of the selection board, his/her application is also considered as an application for his/her election to the title or for recognition of the title. The title must be obtained before the signing of the employment contract;
- knowledge of Slovene on B2 level. If the chosen candidate does not fulfil this condition when he starts the job, he must fulfil it within 3 years after the employment;
- rhetorical abilities, innovativeness, sense for connection and application of theoretical and methodological contents, sense for organization of own work and work of colleagues.
Desirable additional competencies:
- knowledge and experience in programming and working with databases;
- scientific research activity in the field of bibliometrics;
- scientific research activity in the field of artificial intelligence;
- experience in leading research projects in the field of Information Science:
- experience in supervising PhD students.
Job description:
- developing and updating course syllabi and adapting study programs to specific university and higher education professional educational requirements;
- organizing or co-organizing all activities for execution of courses in accordance with teaching plans and professional findings, and co-ordinating and supervising the work of other course providers (assistants, technical staff, and other collaborators);
- performing pedagogical work (lectures, seminars etc.) with students on undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral study programmes and other forms of pedagogical work (consultation, office hours,…);
- managing, evaluating and correcting exams and tests;
- supervising students’ final works (theses, dissertations etc.)
- monitoring and following the profession and collaborating in domestic and international meetings;
- collaboration in other pedagogical activities in the field: inside and outside of university (for example nostrification and habilitation reports; lifelong education,..), taking care for safe and healthy work of staff and students of the unit; the appropriate education and training of persons coming into contact with dangerous substances, the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures;
- performing other tasks that are content of the broader professional field of the job.
