Employment position: UNIVERSITY TEACHER at Department of Clinical Biochemistry
- Academic title: Assistant professor/Associate professor/Full professor of biochemistry and laboratory biomedicine or pharmacogenomics or pharmaceutical biochemistry or toxicological chemistry.
- Status: full time
- Type of contract: permanent, from 1st February 2025
Conditions for the position:
- required education/level and field: doctoral degree (PhD) in pharmaceutical, biomedical, chemical, or biochemical science;
- valid academic title for university teacher from University in Ljubljana in the fields of biochemistry and laboratory biomedicine or pharmacogenomics or pharmaceutical biochemistry or toxicological chemistry. A candidate fulfils the conditions when possessing a valid academic title at the University of Ljubljana or another institution under the condition that this title can be recognized in the process of recognizing at the University of Ljubljana; or the title of guest professor at the University of Ljubljana; when fulfiling minimum conditions for obtaining the title under the Statute of the University of Ljubljana and the Criteria; In this case, together with the application, it is necessary to submit proofs of compliance with the quantitative and qualitative criteria for the election to the academic title or for recognition of the title in accordance with the Criteria. The candidate must also enclose a statement that he/she agrees that in the event of a positive decision of the selection board, his/her application is also considered as an application for his/her election to the title or for recognition of the title. The title must be obtained before the signing of the employment contract;
- knowledge of the Slovenian language at the level B2 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR),
- proficiency of a foreign language,
- good rhetorical skills, inovativeness, ability to organize his/hers own work and team work, PC skills.
Employment contract can be concluded only with a candidate who qualifies for the position.
Job description:
- giving lectures to students and conducting seminars and other pedagogical activities;
- designing and updating course syllabus according to the university and higher-education professional programme requirements with application of research findings;
- organizing (or cooperating in) the activities related to the implementation of the teaching programme according to the syllabus, coordinating work and supervising other staff engaged in the teaching programme;
- testing student knowledge (exams, colloquia, seminar works, diploma defences);
- directing students in their research and study activities, providing mentorship to students in preparing their diplomas, master and doctoral theses and similar;
- engaging in scientific research work;
- international cooperation within pedagogical and research activities
- organising professional training seminars, summer schools and conferences
