Position:
University teacher (D019001) at the Department of Environmental Civil Engineering, Chair of Hydraulic Engineering
- 1 vacancy, m/f
- full-time employment, permanent contract
- the selected candidate will be employed as a higher education teacher – full professor (code D019006) OR higher education teacher – associate professor (code D019007) OR higher education teacher – assistant professor (code D019008), depending on the acquired title;
Conditions for the position:
- doctor of science (prefious) from the area of Civil Engineering
- doctor of science (3rd Bologna cycle) from the area of Civil Engineering
- valid habilitation title: assistant professor/associate professor/full professor for the area Civil and Environmental Engineering
- the candidate meets the conditions with a valid title awarded by UL or a valid title of a visiting teacher at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate has not yet been elected to the above titles, but meets the qualitative and quantitative conditions for election to these titles, he/she may apply for the advertised position and, in this case, also submit, together with the application, proof that he/she meets the above criteria and enclose a statement that he/she agrees that, in the event of a decision by the selection committee the application will also be considered as an application for election to the title or recognition of the equivalence of the title;
- B2 knowledge of Slovenian according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is proven by a certificate. If a foreign national does not meet this requirement when occupying the position, they shall meet it no later than within three years after employment;
- rhetorical and innovative skills, organisational abilities for own work and the work of co-workers; teamwork skills and skills of active work with students;
- trial work period 4 months
Preference will be given to candidates:
- have references in the fields of hydrology, hydrological modeling, erosion processes and torrent control, flood and landslide protection, water management infrastructure, nature-based solutions in water management;
- demonstrate high scientific excellence (high citation rate: h-index according to WoS > 25, publications in highly ranked journals according to WoS);
- are internationally established (international awards, editorial and review work in international journals, review work for international research agencies, invited lectures, active work in the international arena, participation in international committees and leadership of work groups);
- demonstrate educational excellence (broad activity in various educational fields, international supervisions, university textbook, educational training, modern educational approaches, educational projects);
- demonstrte successful management of research and professional projects.
Short job description:
- Designing and updating of curriculum and adaptation of university and higher education study programmes,
- organization and co-organization of all activities relevant to the execution of study courses in accordance with curriculums and developments in the professional field, coordination of work and control over the work of other teaching staff (assistants, technical and other staff),
- lectures for students, conduct of seminars and other pedagogical activities on the subject at undergraduate and post-graduate study programmes,
- guidance of research work and other study activities of students and mentoring for students in their seminary papers, diploma theses and other work,
- supervising students in preparing assignments and other work
- participating in other activities related to educational work in the field of expertise within and outside the university
- conducting scientific research, studying and developing concepts, theories and methods
- ensuring safe and healthy working conditions of staff and students in the unit, and providing appropriate education and training for those who come into contact with hazardous substances, including the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures
- performing other tasks that fall within the broader professional scope of the position
