- the selected candidate will be employed in the position of university teacher – full professor (code D019006) OR university teacher – associate professor (code D019007) OR university teacher – assistant professor (code D019008), depending on the title obtained;
- duration of employment: indefinite period
Conditions for performing work:
- scientific PhD degree (former or 3rd cycle Bologna) from the area of geodesy
- valid habilitation title: assistant professor/associate professor/full professor for the area Geodesy and Geoinformatics
- the candidate meets the condition if he/she has a valid title of UL or a valid title of visiting lecturer at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate has not been elected to the above-mentioned titles, but meets the quantitative and qualitative conditions for election to these titles, he/she can apply for the advertised position and, in this case, together with the application, submit proof of fulfilment of the stated criteria and attach a statement that he/she agrees that in the event of a positive decision of the selection committee, the application will also be considered as an application for election to the title or for recognition of the equivalence of the title;
- knowledge of the Slovenian language at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate does not fulfil this condition when filling the position, he/she must fulfil it no later than three years after employment;
- rhetorical skills, innovative skills, sense of organisation of one's own work and the work of colleagues;
- team work skills and active work with students;
- knowledge of one world language is desired.
When selecting a candidate for the advertised position, preference will be given to individuals with in-depth knowledge of precise geodetic measurement methods, calculation procedures for the processing and analysis of results, and with experience in the field of teaching, both in classroom and in the form of distance learning. Experience in presenting research achievements at scientific conferences and professional meetings will also be an advantage. The candidate's key required areas of expertise include modern precise terrestrial measurement technologies, terrestrial laser scanning to monitor changes in the geometry of objects, calibration of measuring devices according to standardized and innovative procedures, and advanced processing of geodetic measurement data taking into account the impacts on measured quantities. The candidate's ability to master and develop numerical procedures using at least one of the programming languages (e.g. Matlab, Python, etc.) and modern software tools for transferring and processing measurement data captured by various measurement technologies (TPS, TLS, etc.) is also important. The candidate must demonstrate scientific excellence and professional competence in the field of statistical processing of measurements, determination of characteristic displacements of points or geometry of objects through deformation analysis, and the ability to develop innovative approaches in this analysis. In addition, the candidate must have reference works in the field of precise monitoring of infrastructure facilities and critical infrastructure, such as water dams, landslides and industrial facilities.
Short description of work and tasks:
- design and updating of curricula and adapting higher education professional teaching programmes to requirements
- organizing or co-organizing all activities for the implementation of the course according to the curriculum and the findings of the profession, as well as coordinating the work and supervising the work of other course providers (assistants, technical and other co-workers),
- lectures to students, conducting seminars and other teaching activities for the course,
- managing, evaluating and correcting exams and tests
- supervising students in the preparation of diploma theses and other works
- participation in other activities related to educational work in the field of profession (nostrifications, etc.)
- scientific and research work, study and development of concepts, theories and methods
- care for safe and healthy work of co-workers and students at the department, adequate education and training of persons coming in contact with hazardous substances, use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures
- performance of other tasks that fall within the broader professional field of the position
