Employment for: a definite period from 1 April 2025 till 31 December 2026, full-time (40 hours/week)

We are announcing a temporary full-time position (40 hours per week) from April 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026. The scientific research work will be conducted within a startup project funded by the Development Fund of the University of Ljubljana. The project involves researching the acute and chronic responses of exercisers to various forms of exercise, and identifying the genetic, physiological, biochemical, demographic, and behavioral characteristics of exercisers that predict their response to the exercise process.

Conditions of employment:  

Required education:

• PhD degree (the previous one) in a relevant field,
• PhD degree (the third Bologna cycle) in a relevant field;

Functional skills:

• Innovativeness, ability to work in a team, communicativeness, organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of data processing in statistical programs such as SPSS and R
• High level of knowledge of scientific and professional English language
• Independence in performing scientific research work.

Work experience:

• Knowledge of the methodology of designing and writing reviews and original scientific articles;
• In organizing laboratory and field measurements;
• In measuring and interpreting biochemical markers related to health and sports performance;
• In measuring physiological and hemodynamic characteristics of individuals;
• Independence in performing scientific research work.

Probation period: 3 months

Brief description of the work and tasks:

• scientific research,
• organizing, coordinating, planning, and monitoring work in research activities (within a research group),
• integration of research activities with other research institutions,
• participation in the design of research programmes and undergraduate and postgraduate studies,
• professional cooperation with research task clients,
• preparation of research reports and studies,
• care for a safe and healthy work of the unit's employees and students, appropriate education and instruction of those who come into contact with dangerous substances, the use of personal protective equipment, and other safety measures.
• Performing other tasks that fall within the broader professional field of the job position.
