The selected candidate will be employed at the position of Higher Education Teacher – Assistant Professor (D019008) OR Higher Education Teacher – Associate Professor (D019007) OR Higher Education Teacher – Full Professor (D019006), depending on the academic title obtained

Conditions for the position:

Required education (level and area):

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of social sciences (according to the former system)  
• Doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of social sciences (third Bologna degree)

Valid appointment to the title:

• A valid appointment to a title of a higher education teacher – assistant professor / associate professor / full professor in the field of Social Work.

A candidate meets the conditions if he/she holds a valid academic title of the University of Ljubljana or a valid title of another institution, if this title is recognized at the University of Ljubljana in the procedure for the recognition of the title, or if he/she has a valid title of visiting teacher at the University of Ljubljana, or if he/she meets the minimum quantitative and qualitative conditions for the appointment to the title according to the Statute of the University of Ljubljana and the Criteria for the Appointment to the Titles of University Teachers, Researchers and Associates at the University of Ljubljana for the appointment to title of Higher Education Teacher – Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor of Social Work. In this case, the application must also be accompanied by proof of meeting the quantitative and qualitative criteria for appointment to the title or for the recognition of the title, in accordance with the Criteria. In this case the candidate must also attach a statement that he/she agrees that, in the event of a positive decision by the selection committee, his/her application will also be considered as an application for the appointment to the title or for the recognition of the title. The title must be obtained before the signing of the employment contract.

Functional skills and other requirements:

Rhetorical skills,

• innovativeness, organisational and teamwork skills, communicativeness,
• knowledge of basic computer programs, active knowledge of the Slovene and English language,
• knowledge and experience in the field of gender and reproductive rights studies, violence, theories of society, social inequalities and poverty.

Job description:  

• designing and updating of curricula and adjusting higher education programmes according to requirements;
• organising and co-organising all the activities for the realization of the course in accordance with the curriculum and the findings in the field; co-ordination of work and supervision of other staff engaged in the teaching process (assistants, technical and other staff);
• giving lectures to students, conducting seminars and other teaching activities within the course;
• management, assessment and correction of exam tasks and tests;
• providing mentorship to students in preparing their diplomas and other final assignments;
• engaging in other activities related to pedagogical work in the field of the profession (nostrifications, etc.);
• engaging in scientific research activities, study and development of concepts, theories and methods;
• performing other tasks within the broader professional scope of the the job position.

Job starting date (permanent, full time): October 1^st , 2025.
