Research Associate – (m/f), 1 job vacancy

The position is offered for an indefinite period, on a full-time basis. The probation period is four months.

Required Qualifications, Conditions and Skills:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• completed doctoral degree (pre-Bologna or third-cycle Bologna/PhD) in an appropriate field;
• a valid University of Ljubljana academic title (habilitation) of Research Associate in the field of Economics and management in public administration.
• A candidate fulfils this requirement if they hold a valid University of Ljubljana title. Candidates who do not yet hold the above-mentioned title but meet the quantitative and qualitative criteria for election to this title in accordance with the Criteria for Elections to the Titles of Higher Education Teachers, Researchers and Associates (No. 012-2/2026, dated 21 April 2026) may also apply. In this case, applicants must submit supporting evidence demonstrating fulfilment of the criteria and provide a written statement consenting that, should the selection committee so decide, the application may also be considered as an application for election to the academic title. An employment contract may only be concluded with a candidate who fulfils all conditions for the position;
• Slovene language proficiency at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), demonstrated by appropriate certification. If the selected candidate does not fulfil this requirement at the time of appointment, it must be fulfilled no later than three years after employment;
• innovativeness, organisational skills and strong communication skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• conducting scientific research;
• organising, coordinating, planning and monitoring research activities within a research group;
• establishing links between research activities and other research institutions;
• participating in the development of research programmes and in undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes;
• monitoring open calls for proposals, applying for calls, informing supervisors thereof, and participating in and/or preparing applications for research funding calls;
• professional cooperation with commissioners/clients of research projects;
• preparing research reports and studies;
• ensuring occupational health and safety for employees and students of the faculty, including appropriate training and awareness regarding hazardous substances, the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures;
• performing other tasks that fall within the broader professional scope of the position.
