Position title: University teacher – Assistant professor, (economics and management in public administration) – M/F, one vacant position
The selected candidate will be employes in the position of University Teacher – Assistant Professor (position code D017008)
The position is offered for an indefinite period, with part-time employment. The expected start date of employment is January 2026.
Required education:
- PhD (previous system), preferably in the field of social sciences; or
- PhD (third Bologna cycle), preferably in the field of social sciences.
Job Requirements:
- a valid habilitation title of Assistant professor in the field of Economics and Management in Public Administration. A candidate meets this requirement if they hold a valid UL title. If a candidate does not yet hold the title but meets the quantitative and qualitative criteria for appointment according to the Criteria for the Election to Titles of Higher Education Teachers, Research Fellows and Associates (No. 0160/2011 of 25 October 2011, with amendments), they may still apply. In such a case, the candidate must submit documentation proving compliance with the criteria and a signed statement agreeing that, if selected, their application will also serve as a request for appointment to the academic title. The employment contract can only be concluded with a candidate who meets the formal conditions for the position.
- active knowledge of English and knowledge of the Slovenian language at B2 level according to the European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate does not meet this requirement at the time of appointment, they must do so within three years of employment.

Job description:
- designing and updating course syllabi and adapting professional higher education programmes to academic and professional requirements;
- organizing or co-organizing all activities required for the implementation of a course in accordance with the syllabus and academic standards, coordinating and supervising the work of other course contributors (assistants, technical staff, and others);
- delivering lectures, leading seminars and other pedagogical activities;
- supervising, evaluating, and grading examinations and other assessments;
- mentoring students in the preparation of final theses and other academic works;
- participating in activities related to teaching within the discipline (e.g., recognition of foreign qualifications);
- conducting research work, including the study and development of concepts, theories, and methods;
- ensuring occupational safety and health for staff and students, including training in the safe handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment;
- performing other tasks related to the broader professional field of the position.

- An appropriate certificate of Slovenian language proficiency is either a certificate of having passed the Slovenian language examination at level B2, or an equivalent certificate, or a diploma obtained from a higher education institution in the Republic of Slovenia, accompanied by a confirmation (statement) that the study programme was conducted in the Slovenian language.
