CONDITIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Required education (level and area):

• doctorate (PhD-previous) in the field of computer science or doctorate (PhD-third Bologna cycle) in Computer Science, or a teaching qualification in Computer Science.
• valid habilitation title: Assistant Professor
• desirable work experience in participating in international research projects and working in an international environment, in organizing and leading teams or professional groups and organizations, as well as experience in organizing and conducting professional education and training
• experience in teaching students at the higher education level
• candidate meets the condition if he has a valid UL title or valid title of the guest teacher at UL. If, at the time of application, the candidate does not have an election to the above mentioned titles, but he meets the qualitative and quantitative conditions for election to these titles, he can apply for the job vacancy, in which case, together with the application, he/she shall also provide evidence of compliance with the above criteria, accompanied by a statement, in the event of a decision by the selection committee, the application shall also be considered as an application for election to the title or for the recognition of the equivalence of the title
• active knowledge of English and knowledge of the Slovenian language at B2 level according to the European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR). If the selected candidate fails to meet this condition at the time of the job placement, he must complete it within three years from the date of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• designing and updating curricula and adapting higher education professional study programmes to requirements
• organizing or co-organizing all activities related to the implementation of a course in accordance with the curriculum and developments in the field, as well as coordinating and supervising the work of other course instructors (assistants, technical and other staff)
• delivering lectures to students, conducting seminars, and carrying out other pedagogical activities within the course
• supervising, assessing, and grading examination papers and tests,
• mentoring students in the preparation of diploma theses and other academic work,
• participating in other activities related to pedagogical work within the professional field (recognition of qualifications, etc.)
• conducting scientific research work, studying and developing concepts, theories, and methods
• ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees and students of the unit, providing appropriate training and information for persons coming into contact with hazardous substances, and ensuring the use of personal protective equipment and other safety measures
• guiding students’ research work and study activities, and mentoring students in the preparation of diploma theses and other academic work
• conducting scientific research work, studying and developing concepts, theories, and methods in the field of computer science in education
• participating in other activities related to pedagogical or scientific research work within the professional field (e.g. recognition procedures, expert evaluations, etc.)
• performing other tasks as assigned by the dean, vice-deans, or the head of department that fall within the broader professional scope of the position

JOB STARTING DATE:

• part – time (50 % i.e. 20 hours per week) employment for an indefinite period,                
• presumably from   Oct., 1^st 2026 or upon receipt of the consent of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MVZI) to the 2026 Programme.
