    Truth, Politics, and Philosophy: Graduate Conference, EUTOPIA Connected Communities

    The EUTOPIA graduate conference explores the intersection of contemporary social sciences and classical philosophical inquiry, focusing on the construction and contestation of truth within the political sphere. The event is organized University of Ljubljana, the host, in collaboration with Babeş-Bolyai University, and Pompeu Fabra University, and fosters high-level academic dialogue. Participants will employ a comparative lens to examine the complexities of power, ideology, and democratic legitimacy, bringing together Hegelian dialectics, French Theory, and the psychoanalytical insights of the Ljubljana School.

    EUTOPIA workshop Rethinking Area Studies for a Changing World

    The aim of the workshop is to fundamentally modernize regional studies through a critical reexamination of their Cold War-era and Eurocentric foundations. Through the interdisciplinary integration of Sinology, anthropology, and other disciplines, the event promotes the decolonization of knowledge and the development of new analytical models for understanding a multipolar world. The goal is to establish an ethical, transcultural approach to research that will directly influence the development of contemporary university curricula. The workshop will be conducted in English.

    Virtual workshop Transformative Assessment for Integrating Sustainability

    While efforts to integrate sustainability into teaching practices have grown, there remains a tendency for the assessment of sustainability competencies to be less prioritized. This workshop aims to bridge that gap by exploring how assessment modalities can be transformed to better align with sustainability goals. Workshop participants will discuss the challenges and opportunities of assessing sustainability competencies through various methods. Through collaborative discussions and practical exercises, participants will gain insights into reimagining assessment practices to assess students' sustainability competencies. The workshop is organized by University of Gothenburg, partner within EUTOPIA MORE project.

    Carmen Pellegrinelli: Applied Theatre and Participatory Arts in the Design of Technologies for Dementia

    Connected community EUTOPIA Age-Friendly Community 5.0 is hosting a webinar with Carmen Pellegrinelli, a postdoctoral researcher from the University of Trieste, which will explore the necessity of actively involving people with dementia (PwD) and their caregivers in the development of support technologies to create solutions that are truly usable and can improve their quality of life. The presentation will analyse the methodological challenges of this involvement: conventional co-design methodologies often rely on abstract discussions and verbal processes, which can be limiting for those with cognitive impairments.
