The project aims to improve communication in train operations when crossing borders. Its goal is to analyze the use of a digital tool for translating messages in railway jargon and to update existing solutions for communication between train drivers and dispatchers.

Under current regulations, train drivers and dispatchers must know the cross-border language at a B1 level. The project seeks to facilitate communication through a tool designed to overcome language barriers. Testing will be conducted at the border crossings Villa Opicina-Sežana and Gorizia CLe-Nova Gorica. Additionally, analyses will be carried out on the modal shift of freight to rail transport and the mobility of residents in the border region.

The project plans to adapt operational processes and test digital tools in a working environment for seamless railway traffic. The goals include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy efficiency in transport, and minimizing light pollution and noise.
