Researchers and company representatives from 18 countries on Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and a Clean Environment for a Healthy Life

As part of the KRPAN project, the University of Ljubljana organized a networking event on 13 February 2025, titled "Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture, and a Clean Environment for a Healthy Life." The event was attended by over 80 researchers, research consultants, and company representatives from 18 European countries. In addition to Slovenian participants, the event was also attended by researchers and company representatives from Albania, Armenia, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, France, Croatia, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, North Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, and Tunisia.
The event opened with a welcome speech by the rector Prof. Dr. Gregor Majdič, followed by keynote presentations from Prof. Dr. Nataša Poklar Ulrih from the University of Ljubljana, Ilaria Marcolin and Francesco Coletti from the Fondazione Agrifood & Bioeconomy (FAB FVG) in Italy, Dr. Uroš Novak from the National Institute of Chemistry, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Draško Veselinovič from the Slovenian Business and Research Association in Belgium.
The keynote speakers then took part in a roundtable discussion on "The Importance of a Strong Consortium for Success in EU Calls," moderated by Dr. Kaja Smole Orehek from the University Office for Research.
The event concluded with presentations of 24 new and potentially groundbreaking ideas for future European projects, followed by networking sessions. Participants established new connections, fostering collaborations between project idea presenters and other attendees to further develop research and innovation concepts and form consortia for centralized European funding applications.
The event is organised in the framework of the KRPAN project – Strengthening Research Support and Activities for Progress on European Research Projects, co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
