Dr. Ivana Rapoš Božič Awarded MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research on Migrants’ Artistic Practices
Dr. Ivana Rapoš Božič has been awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA) for her project PaReMAPs – Pathways to Recognition through Migrants’ Artistic Practices. She will be hosted by the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, where she will conduct the research under the supervision of Prof. Ksenija Vidmar Horvat and in collaboration with the research group Social Contract in the 21st Century, the APIS Institute, and the Slovene Ethnographic Museum. She will join the University of Ljubljana in September 2027.

These systems are no longer merely a navigation aid; rather, they represent the invisible backbone of modern societies—supporting everything from transport and energy to banking, telecommunications, and emergency services. The key question is whether society is even aware of how deeply it is intertwined with this technology, and how unprepared it may be for a potential outage.

Centre of Excellence in Green Heritage Science to Be Established in Slovenia
In a collaborative European partnership, the University of Ljubljana is in the process of establishing the Centre of Excellence in Green Heritage Science. The new Centre will bring together an interdisciplinary community of researchers – from archaeologists and chemists to computer scientists and conservator-restorers – who develop knowledge in the understanding and management of cultural heritage. The development of the Centre is being led by Professor Matija Strlič.

Reorganization of Social Work Centers Between Declared and Actual
How successful was the reorganization of Social Work Centers (SWC), implemented in 2018 by the Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities? The ministry, SWC employees, and users have different opinions. This was found in the doctoral dissertation "Evaluation of the Reorganization of Social Work Centers in the Republic of Slovenia from the Perspective of Selected Public Governance Models" by Dr. Matej Babšek from the Faculty of Public Administration at the University of Ljubljana. This exceptional work earned him the Mzia Mikeladze award, presented by the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (NISPAcee) for outstanding doctoral dissertations in the field of public administration and public policies.
