    Professor Boštjan Kobe elected Fellow of The Royal Society

    The University of Ljubljana (UL) would like to pass on its sincere congratulations to Professor Boštjan Kobe on being elected fellow of The Royal Society, one of the most prestigious scientific institutions in the world. An alumnus of UL’s Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Dr Kobe is one of the world’s leading structural biologists. His research in the field of molecular and structural biology has made a significant contribution to our understanding of fundamental biological processes and to the development of modern science.

    UL Faculty of Mechanical Engineering alumna Ljupka Vrteva named among the world’s 12 outstanding women engineers

    Ljupka Vrteva, recipient of the Slovenian Engineer of the Year 2023 award and an alumna of the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, has been selected as one of the 12 outstanding women engineers worldwide in the prestigious Women Engineers You Should Know – 2026 initiative. The selection is organised annually by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the world’s largest organisation dedicated to connecting, supporting and advancing women in engineering.

    Visit to Madrid as part of the Erasmus+ project AL4LIFE

    In March, all partners of the Erasmus+ project AL4LIFE gathered again for a joint meeting, this time in Madrid. The main purpose of the meeting was to report to the participating universities on the activities carried out in the past year and on the activities planned for the next year of the project.
