About the programme

The fundamental objective of the second-cycle Master’s study programme in Mechanical Engineering – Research and Development Programme is to educate Master Engineers and Master Teachers of Mechanical Engineering. Based on the broad education acquired, well-developed analytical thinking skills, and knowledge of methodologies and approaches to research and development activities across various professional fields of mechanical engineering, Master Engineers are qualified for independent research and development work, as well as for project-and application-oriented tasks, and for the creation of new knowledge both within the mechanical engineering sciences and in areas requiring interdisciplinary integration. In addition to comprehensive professional engineering knowledge, Master Teachers acquire andragogical and didactic competences together with direct pedagogical practice, which qualify them to teach technical subjects in mechanical engineering at secondary schools. The programme also fulfils the fundamental requirements for the successful continuation of studies at the third-cycle doctoral level.
