Music education

The graduates of the master study programme Music education are qualified to independently teach music education and choral singing in primary and secondary school programmes and in preschool and primary music school programmes.

Furthermore, they are qualified to autonomously plan and conduct programmes of informal education for different target groups and to collaborate with other teachers, parents and technical and administrative staff in a team environment.

Required courses enable the students to acquire wide range of knowledge, abilities and skills in the fields of music theory, musical pedagogy, musical composition, musical interpretation and music history. Elective courses offer broader knowledge of the fields of students’ interest and orientation.

The graduates of the programme gain qualifications for critical evaluation of formal and informal educational work and develop communication skills for work with children, adolescents and adults.
