About the programme

The entirety of study at the Department of Painting is organised in the form of a development spiral, which in different phases and at different levels includes professional and general knowledge, studio experience and technological development, which together encourage students to solve problems, experiment and develop a capacity for innovative thinking and opens for them pathways to the possibilities of individual practice. The main goal of undergraduate studies at the Department of Painting is to enable students to acquire the appropriate knowledge and understanding, develop necessary personal attributes and master essential skills that equip and prepare students through a thoughtfully and coherently composed study programme in the Painting study programme and Video, Animation and New Media field of study, with a combination of studio, theoretical and professional subjects, for further personal development within the framework of fine arts or arising from it and for professional artistic practice.
