About the programme

The master study programme Spatial Planning prepares students to practice the profession of spatial planners. After the completion of the study programme, the students shall have the competence to perform tasks covering strategic research and spatial planning by preparing various studies and background documents at international, state, regional, and implementation levels, with an emphasis on planning zoned land use and siting of activities. The students also become familiar with the tasks concerned with detailed municipal and national spatial planning.

The study programme is interdisciplinary in nature as along with spatial sciences it covers social, natural, and environmental sciences, civil engineering and technical sciences, including obligatory professional excursions, extensive field work, seminars, and public relations. The study programme is intended for students who completed a first-cycle programme at various faculties. The Spatial Planning graduate’s employment opportunities are in all activities concerned with spatial planning and design, particularly in design offices, municipal services, and public administration.

The study programme is open for enrolment every other year.
