Workshops and dissemination

We are continuing the established good practice in the field of workshops and dissemination from the Digital UL project (2017–2020), the ICT in UL Teacher Training Programmes project (2017–2018) and other projects, and we provide workshops on innovative teaching approaches using ICT, the development of appropriate teaching materials, access to examples of good practice, and the organisation of exchanges of experience between higher education lecturers and staff.

Events Teachers for teachers

We organize “Teachers for Teachers” events designed to facilitate the exchange of best practices and experiences in the use of ICT in the teaching process.

Online workshops

We have developed 24 online workshops designed to promote the pedagogical use of ICT among University of Ljubljana lecturers and staff. Participants can complete the workshops at their own pace, and a team of moderators is available at all times to answer any questions.

Live workshops and webinars

We also regularly hold ‘in-person’ workshops, which were replaced by webinars or virtual meetings during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. At these sessions, we present the latest tools and discuss how they can be used in the teaching process.

Resources

On our website, we regularly update and add new examples of good practice in the use of ICT in the teaching process, as well as various resources that can serve as a starting point for new ideas or provide answers to questions that may arise when using various forms of ICT.

Consulting

We are continuing the established good practice in the field of education and dissemination from the Digital UL project (2017–2020), the ICT in UL Teacher Training Programmes project (2017–2018) and other projects, and we provide training in innovative teaching approaches using ICT, the development of appropriate teaching materials, access to examples of good practice, and the organisation of exchanges of experience between higher education lecturers and staff.

One-to-one consultations

Individual counselling takes place at several levels. The starting point is our email address digitalna@uni-lj.si, where you can write to us and we will endeavour to assist you as soon as possible.
We can prepare materials to help resolve your query, organise a one-to-one meeting where we can review your use of ICT together, or put you in touch with external experts who will be able to offer a solution to your query.

Pilot updates to subject courses

As part of the projects “ICT in Teacher Training Programmes” (2017–2018); “Digital UL – Achieving Excellence through the Innovative Use of ICT” (2017–2020), we helped implement more than 100 pilot updates to subject courses, providing university lecturers and staff with both pedagogical and technical support in the use of ICT in the teaching process. We will continue this good practice within the framework of the Digital UL Centre and will regularly organise pilot projects, which you are also welcome to join.

A community of multipliers for the didactic use of ICT

By establishing a community of multipliers across the University of Ljubljana’s member institutions, we aim to create an environment that ensures the transfer of knowledge regarding the use of ICT in the teaching process, with the aim of actively involving all students in the teaching process to encourage the use of higher-order cognitive processes, linked to the development of the skills and knowledge required for the 21st century across various fields of study.

Research and Development

The Digital UL Centre regularly monitors developments in the field of the pedagogical use of ICT, both in Slovenia and abroad. We have set up a pilot technological environment where we test and analyse various ICT tools for use in the teaching process and make them available for pilot use to all constituent units of the University of Ljubljana.
Of key importance is also our collaboration with the University IT Service in establishing the technological infrastructure to support the use of ICT at the University of Ljubljana, our collaboration with the University of Ljubljana Quality Service in monitoring courses that make pedagogical use of ICT, and our collaboration with the University’s constituent institutions in sharing and exchanging best practices in the use of ICT.

Resources for the use of ICT

We regularly produce a range of resources on using ICT. This means you can find step-by-step guides on how to use tools such as Zoom, MS Teams and Moodle, all in one place.

Quick tips for using ICT

For those of you who already use various forms of ICT on a regular basis, we are preparing short guides and tips on using ICT in the teaching process, in which we aim to answer the most frequently asked questions regarding the use of ICT in the teaching process.

Academic and professional publications

The team at the University of Ljubljana Digital Centre endeavours to share its experiences on a regular basis through various academic and professional publications and at various events.

Integrated learning environment and unified learning interface

A pilot technology environment is currently under development and is being used by six UL member institutions. The environment is based on Moodle online classrooms, but we will not stop there – we plan to create a unique user experience for every user of the technology environment and to integrate it with various other elements, such as a multimedia repository, video conferencing systems, etc.
