Travel grant

Staff and students are also entitled to a travel grant, the amount of which depends on the distance between the UL and the partner institution's place of establishment and the mode of travel (green travel or not). The EU Distance Calculator is used to calculate the distance. The distance taken into account is the one-time air distance to the place of exchange.

The higher amount in the table below will be allocated to participants travelling to and from the exchange destination by green travel, e.g. by bus, train and/or other group transport (e.g. GoOpti, etc.). The difference between standard and green travel will be credited to the participant at the end of the exchange, upon presentation of the relevant proof of travel and the declaration of honour. Participants may be granted up to a maximum of four (KA171 2022 and 2023) or six (KA171 2024) additional funded days (up to two and three in each direction of travel respectively) to complete the green trip, provided that evidence shows that the participant actually needed the additional days to complete the green trip (as evidenced by the tickets submitted).

Participants are encouraged to make journeys of less than 500 km by green transport. For Erasmus+ students there is a special offer on the Erasmus+ Interrail ticket.
