Call for proposals for the granting of financial aid

The University of Ljubljana, in cooperation with the Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth, is raising funds to help UL students in need. As we want to ensure that the aid reaches those students who really need it, we have set the criteria for receiving the aid.

Deadline for applications: 7 February 2025.

Heart Ambassadors

During the winter months, some UL faculties and colleges traditionally organise various charity campaigns. We invite you to donate funds raised during this time to help UL students in financial need by becoming a Heart Ambassador to support the most vulnerable members of our academic community. If you would like support to set up a charity campaign for your faculty or acadamy, please contact us.

Why we collect donations

I have been living in a rented apartment for several years, my mother is a drug addict, unemployed and on welfare, and my father lives abroad and we have no contact. So I have had to rely on myself for many years and live from student jobs, which I can only do in the summer because of the demands of my studies.

I live in a student dormitory during the week because my home is too far away and would cost too much. My parents are divorced and I look after myself because my mother has gone bankrupt. That's why I help her as much as I can with the money I earn from my student work.

I come from a large family, my parents' company went bankrupt, both are personally bankrupt, we live in a house with a mortgage, we have been visited several times by bailiffs, they have taken everything from us except the bare necessities of life. Together we are working for a better future.
