Student surveys
The student survey is conducted with intention to monitor the opinion of students on individual subjects and the pedagogical work of higher education (HE) teachers and HE associates, as defined in Higher Education Act (only in Slovene). Based on the results of the survey, UL member bodies and individual teachers and associates improve study programs, the manner of their implementation, and pedagogical work. The conducting of UL student surveys is regulated in detail by the Rules on UL student surveys (only in Slovene).
The student survey for the Doctoral degree students is tailored to assess the general aspects of the studies, individual core courses, supervision, research as part of the studies, and professional support by the student office(s). The survey carried out during the Doctoral study period also allows for the students to assess individual elective courses, although this is decided by either the Council of the individual UL Member or the Programme Council for interdisciplinary study programmes.
Based on the results of the survey, the bodies of the individual UL Members or individual HE teachers improve study programmes and their execution and teaching performance. The results of the survey on HE teachers are used as the basis for the Student Council's opinion on the teaching performance of individual HE teachers in accordance with the Criteria for Appointment to the Titles of University Teachers, Researchers and Associates at the University of Ljubljana.
Survey implementation
All students enrolled at the UL at all levels of study are granted the right to complete the survey. The survey is available in Slovenian and English. The survey is anonymous and voluntary for students, regardless of how the survey is carried out. The surveys are conducted at various intervals.
