Exchange students

There is an International cooperation service (Resor za mednarodno sodelovanje) operating within the scope of the University of Ljubljana Student Organisation, with a registered office at Pivovarniška ulica 6, 1000 Ljubljana (office hours: Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 2 pm-5 pm). International exchange students can receive general information about student life in Ljubljana and help with private accommodation search by email rooms@sou-lj.si or findmeroom@gmail.com.

Residence in Dormitory for postgraduate students

Residence in Dormitory for postgraduate students is possible for young researchers (employed doctoral students with the status of a young researcher, funded by the Public Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia – ARRS) and scholarship holders (doctoral students, who do not have the citizenship of the Republic of Slovenia and do not have the status of a young researcher, but receive a scholarship awarded in the Republic of Slovenia).

Student resident halls (Študentski domovi) for scholarship holders

Slovenians with no Slovenian citizenship receiving a scholarship by the Republic of Slovenia (Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia) may apply for a room at the Student resident halls. The Regulations on fees and accommodation in students’ dormitories for Slovene nationals without Slovene citizenship and foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia provide that up to 250 places are to be offered in Student resident halls for the recipients of ministry scholarship. Available places for the residence of scholarship recipients are assigned by the Ministry responsible for higher education in cooperation with scholarship providers. Recipients of ministry scholarships are charged a subsidized rent. The Ministry or scholarship provider pays the rent directly to the student dorm, i.e. from the scholarship amount granted.

Students with the status of a person with temporary protection can submit an application for admission of subsidized accommodation in Student dormitory for the academic year 2022/2023. More information and application

Rooms are given to students on a "first-come, first get" basis according to the date and hour of the online application. The application is available here and can be done before you start with the exchange application. More about the dormitories

All rooms are double-bedded with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The price varies from 150 to 190€ per month per person, depending on the size and location of the room.
