About the programme
The master’s degree in philosophy helps students broaden and advance their knowledge of philosophical problems from various theoretical and methodological approaches.
Through detailed analysis of selected philosophical problems and careful formulation of solutions to these problems, through reflection on demanding philosophemes, through reading, analysis and interpretation of basic philosophical texts and through careful assessment of complex lines of argumentation and critical use of specialized literature, students successfully acquire skills needed for independent scientific and investigative work in the field of philosophy and other scientific fields, as well as the ability to formulate answers to basic philosophical questions and problems.
The main objective of the study program is to qualify graduates for productive work in research and educational institutions, for independent and creative work in libraries, on the editorial boards of publishing houses and media companies and as employees of institutions safeguarding, analysing and nourishing the global and local philosophical heritage, as well as the broader humanistic heritage.
Graduates of philosophy – combined teacher education course are also qualified to teach in primary and secondary schools as well as in other educational institutions. Moreover, they can plan and perform the most demanding tasks in various school and afterschool activities.
